Lucite Retro Table Lamps
One of the technologies to emerge from the Second World War was a thermoplastic known as Lucite. These days we know it by the more common name of Plexiglas or perspex, hardly a glamorous sounding name for this type of lamp stand material, but there are a lot of creative ways in which it was used.
As a design material it gave lamp manufacturers yet another option to experiment with and use in all manner of creative ways. The result is a range of Lucite table lamps that are individual and modern looking.
Lucite table lamps came about in the modern era as designers continued to seek ways to incorporate that space age look into their design. Nothing spoke more modern than a lamp stand that was made out of the aesthetically pleasing Lucite.
There are all sorts of lucite table lamps that make an immediate impact the moment you set eyes on them. You never quite know what you will get when you put one in your retro themed room.
